Dwygyfylchi Beach

dwy1_350 dwy2-200

This is the nearest beach to TyF: about 20 mins on foot. Popular with locals, a pleasant sand and shingle beach with some grassy dunes and splendid views across the sea to the Orme, Anglesey and Puffin Island. In common with all the coastline hereabouts, low tide provides vast expanses to roam on. The beach is of course contiguous with Penmaenmawr beach (view, right).

From TyF go down Old Mill Road and turn left. Opposite a bus stop, and by the parish hall, is a public footpath ("llwybr cyhoeddus") marked with horse and bike signs. Follow this (left then right) to the footbridge (arrowed, pic) over the A55 and railway. This approach can reasonably be considered safe for children.
Alternatively (by car) turn right down Maes y Llan (opposite school patrol sign), park discreetly and walk the short distance to the bridge. dwy-bridge
