Penmaenmawr Beach

Penmaenmawr Beach

Now admittedly the beach is shingle above the high water mark and the proximity of the A55 and railway have an effect on the overall ambiance, but it's the plusses that count: cafe; proper loos; huge expanses when the tides' out; play areas; paddling pool; extensive traffic free promenade ideal for bikes, scooters, roller blades; grass for footy.. . the practical parents choice!

On foot from TyF, as for Dwy. beach via the public footpath by the Parish Hall to the footbridge over the A55. Follow the bicycle route west past the Pen. roundabout (junction 16) and onto the east end of the prom. Say 20 mins by bike, 40 mins on foot.
By car go through Dwygyfylchi into Penmaenmawr. Just after the 30mph sign look for a railway station sign and turn right down Station Road East. Park in the vicinity of the bowling green (limited parking - if busy go on to the prom) and walk through the tunnel onto the prom.
Alternatively, to park on the promenade, continue through Penmaenmawr on Bangor Road to a signposted right turn over the A55 and turn R onto the prom (this is the east bound junction 15a slip road off the A55).
