The West Shore is Llandudnos' sun'n sand counterpoint to the towncentric North Shore.
A wide prom, large boating pool, two fine crescents of sand either side of the groyne to please the visitor, not to mention
plenty of room to roam towards Deganwy.
Although the new sea defences have covered up
long sections of beach edge in that direction there
are paths and nice sheltered spots amongst
the dunes flanking the golf course.
10 mins walk along the cycle path reaches a point with
another groyne with little crescents of sand on each side, and
4 blocks of polished limestone to sit on, contemplate fossil coral and watch the sun set.
West Shore and Alice in Wonderland.
Exit the A55 junction 18 Deganwy/Llandudno Junction. Left, past Tescos and straight on at the roundabout. After Deganwy, second roundabout is on a divided 'boulevard' - Gloddaeth Avenue. Left here (or one of the two previous lefts). Ample parking along West Parade, free car park at southern end (and cafe nearby).
